Being Creative in Lesson Plans

Finding a way to be creating when developing lesson plans can be a rough process. While many teachers are very creative themselves, finding a way to impress a child with information can be difficult to do. It is better, then, to find a way to create a successful lesson plan that may be a bit more unique than the traditional option.

Tips for Creativity

Sometimes, teachers need help to become creative enough to develop effective lesson plans. You can use the traditional methods and research the ways that other teachers have taught a topic, especially if the topic is a more challenging one. However, the following tips can also help.

  • Think like a child. What is going to make the child really get involved in this topic? The more unique and interesting it is, the better it will be for you and the student.
  • Get technology involved in the teaching process. While playing a movie of a book the child read is one option, what if you could find other ways to get technology involved? Use the Internet to research locations, ideas and opinions regarding the material online, as part of the classroom study.
  • Consider being out of this world. If you are in a holding pattern of doing the same thing every day change things up. Go outside for the lesson. Take the students to a location in the school that is going to be interesting.

Get creative. Find ways to develop interest in a topic by simply making it more interesting to learn. This may seem like a challenge, but that can be part of the fun involved in the process.
